Crazy Dream

Updated: Jan 5, 2021

We walked into a house by a river and there were two men sitting at a table. When we approached them, my brother and them began talking. Little did I know what this would lead to. The men said they recognized me from the dining hall and they said that we're on a hit list. Next thing I knew, my brother pulls out a knife and killed the two men. In panic, I began cleaning up the mess he had left. It was in defense, so I believed his actions were justified. But, I could not erase what I had just witnessed.

That's when a woman walked in asking for her husband. She was wearing a wedding gown and it struck like a rock to my temple. We had just killed her fiancé. We told her that we were the cleaners and she should come back looking for him later. I grabbed the bloody clothes and ran out. As I was running, I bumped into a next door neighbor and in panic said, "I don't know what to do?" He asked, "Where is he? Lead me to him. He ruined my daughter's wedding." I continued to run and threw the clothes into a bush. Next thing I knew, I was surrounded by a group of men. My brother approached from behind me. They spoke casually to us as if nothing had happened and as if they wanted me to rat out my brother. I peered at my brother and mouthed the words, "Run." He took off running and I ran down another alley way. Left, then right, then straight, I was running anywhere I could and I found a discrete alley that I dived into.

Based off of the streets, it was clear that I was in India. The discrete alley was more like a room and I hid under a trash bag. Next thing I knew, I heard talking and the bag was lifted from me. There were three young men laughing at me. They began beating me senseless and I couldn't do anything. I felt powerless. Above, on the stairwell, an older group of men came down. I needed to escape. The men laughed at me and started conversing. It was obvious that this older man was in charge. He walked over to a jar, laid down his knife on the counter, pulled out some weed, and started smoking. The younger men that I had just beat me senseless complained that they wanted the weed. The older men laughed, made fun of them, and then proceeded to leave.

I asked the younger man, "Are you ok with him treating you that way?" "No, we hate it," he replied. "You guys deserve that weed, not him." "Yeah, you're right." This conversation went on for what felt like hours until I was standing and talking to them like humans. Ignoring the fact that they had just beat me prior to the conversation. They began to agree with me and I convinced them to start a riot over the situation. As they were getting rowdy, I grabbed the knife off the counter and stabbed it deep into his throat. One turned to many and before I knew it, there were three dead young men laying on the ground. I dropped the knife and started to run. That is all I could do. I heard yelling and the group of older men were right behind me. I ran through a market place and began hopping over carts to get away from them.

Eventually, I bumped into my brother and we were both running the same direction. The older men seemed to have disappeared. Up ahead was a restaurant and my brother said that he knew the owner. The owner was kind and he gave me a waiter uniform. I quickly got into the roll and tried to blend in. I was taking an order when someone grabbed me from behind and threw me to the ground. He started throwing fists at me. Due to my uniform I had on, citizens pulled him off of me and threw him onto the street. I knew my cover had been blown and I had to leave. There were more of them coming. I hopped over the fence of the restaurant onto the street and saw a stairwell that led underground.

There was a sign that said airport. I ran towards the airport sign and was sprinting down a tunnel. Next thing I knew, I reached a spiral staircase that led to a terminal. At the top, there was a bridge that was broken and people were trying to climb over each other to get to the terminal. I saw a ledge, climbed up on it, and began shuffling. People followed me until I got to the terminal. There it was. Flight to Denver leaving in one minute. I sprinted onto the airplane and was soon joined by my brother. The plane began to take off. That is when I woke up. I have to go class soon and can hardly focus. It feels like days/weeks have passed in a single night.
